Use a TR15 security screwdriver to open the battery case.

dsc-6857.jpg

Be careful when taking the top of the case off. The wires attached to the
top of the case are attached to the battery.

Once the battery is out of the case, locate the positive and negative wires.

dsc-6863.jpg

Use a set of pliers to pull and detach
the negative wire from the battery.

dsc-6865.jpg

Now detach the positive wire from the battery.

Sometimes the wires are attached
to the battery with solder. Just use
a soldering gun to release the negative and positive wires
from the battery pack.

Sometimes you may come across
a battery that has shrink wrap on
it. This is used to hold the thermistor
in place. Cut the paper to release
the thermistor.

The top of the case should now be completely released from the old battery pack.

In case the thermistor needs to be replaced, use a soldering gun to release the old thermistor.

Once the Old thermistor is detached, prepare the new thermistor by
trimming off access length.

New thermistor should look like this.

dsc-6890.jpg

To attach thermistor, first solder to
the positive wire. )It is easier to start
with the positive because the positive
wire is typically longer than the negative wire.)

After you solder the positive wire, solder the negative wire.

Next, locate the positive and negative tabs on the new battery pack. They will be marked for your convenience.

Begin by sliding the positive wire clip over the positive tab on the battery pack.

Use pliers to squeeze the clip tightly onto the tab. Use a soldering gun and solder to secure the clip to the tab. Repeat the same steps with the negative. Slide the clip over the negative tab.

Inspect your work. Make sure the wires are in the correct place and secured.

Before you put the case back together, push the thermistor wire through the hole on the top of the battery pack to eliminate the risk
of pinching the wires.
And you're done! Screw the case back together!
